I'm a college instructor, teaching a host of communication courses and directing a co-curricular program. Ask me more about that and I'm happy to tell you, but I won't bore those of you who don't care :P
My ideal date is dinner at home, followed by a movie, followed by cuddles in bed. Yes, I'm a first date cuddles guy. If you're a "let's actually go out" kind of guy, a simple restaurant dinner and a movie are classics that I never get tired of :) After that, maybe a nice long walk.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, fruity drinks, and heavy beats, but I can't dance. I also enjoy talking with people who just generally want to chat. I consider myself a decent conversationalist.
I do the semitarian thing, eating mostly vegetarian/vegan at home but going out to restaurants or traveling for work, I'll eat what I feel like or is available to me.
Ask me about:
Ask me about my sexuality and sexual preferences. I'm gay, I enjoy sex, and I love engaging in conversation about it. It's part of my research interests. ,
Ask me about my weight loss journey. It's been up and down for years and I am still trying to lose weight and tone up. Expect me to ask you what your secret is ;) ,
Ask me about my favorite books, music, movies, etc.
Kinds of guys I'm looking for:
I usually like guys that are around my age, but there are always exceptions. Generally I like guys around my size or slightly thinner, but again, there are always exceptions. Regardless of what you look like though, you have to talk to me first and see. It's all about my mental, physical, and emotional connection.
Just don't be a jerk. Don't insult me. Don't challenge me in a way that is an attack. I can handle discussion and debate, but do not mock me. Maintain my faith in humanity and we'll go from there.
I enjoy reading a lot. I am particularly prone to reading humor and academic books, especially narrative autoethnography.,
I do like writing as well. I used to write a lot of poetry. I still write some, but I really love humor and comedy. If I had more free time, I'd definitely be trying to write either a humor book or a memoir. Instead, I narrow my writing focus right now to research articles and extremely lengthy grading comments.
I'm a huge fan of movies. I'm always down for a good comedy. I'm not a huge fan of modern comedy stylings though; give me the slightly older days of Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and the screwball era. I grew up watching old sitcoms like I Love Lucy or comedy duos like the Three Stooges or Abbot and Costello. I like drama as well, but I need a push to watch it just because I'm not always in the mood to ball my eyes out. I don't care for horror, but if you let me cuddle you and bury my head in your chest, I would survive. :) ,
I love music. Listening I like all kinds of genres. Mostly into pop lately but I do still love some good symphonic metal. I sing some. My idol is Josh Groban so if you ever hear me sing, I tend to sound a bit more classical, baritone bass range. I'm no Josh Groban, but I can generally hold my own. I was originally trained to sing in church and musical theatre. ,
I am re-learning how to exercise. Running and walking are my primary exercise, but I love swimming and tennis when I have time.
