Hi, I'm Dave, a dry-witted guy learning what it means to be on my own again. Being single doesn't mean isolation, and I'm looking for friends to show me their favorite Madison area spots. It's funny in a sad way, but I lived in Madison for almost 20 years and knew not all that much about the unique spots. I've been too much a homebody and too focused on my work. It's time to adjust that a tad, enrich my life, while at the same time I'm hoping to make a positive enrichment in yours. I'm most interested in genuine and honest guys that would enjoy a new friend with the possibility to evolve to something more down the road.
I'm looking for someone that enjoys life, is comfortable in themselves, is supportive, caring and sharing. Companionship and communications are essential to any relationship, even "just" friends. To me, the bedrock of friendship is more important than the latest movie, car, concert or other event or other material possession. I'd rather share a frozen custard in the park with a genuine and honest bud versus something trendier but more shallow. Don't get me wrong, I like a comfortable standard of living as much as the next guy, but it doesn't define who I am... balance is an important dynamic for me. Friends enrich our lives, and our interconnectedness is a necessary foundation for considering a longer, deeper relationship.
Communication is important, but I'm not usually the one to initiate a dialog, because I am a bit shy and introverted. So if you get an chat request from me that sounds lame, it's because this is an area I'm growing into. Empathy and support are welcomed, pity or scorn are not.
Thanks for reading! Cheers, Dave
