It seems awfully boring to say that I don't really know what I'm looking for at the moment. Or perhaps just normal? Right now, I would be happy making some new friends, meeting someone with whom I find a deep and lasting connection, or something in between. What I do know for sure is that I'm in a good place in my life right now and would not at all mind sharing it with someone.
I'm a history professor. I love what I've chosen to do with my life and despite all the drama that comes with academia, I am very glad I chose this path.
In my free time I enjoy speaking French, reading, video games, travel and film. I like talking politics and hearing about the latest thing you've seen, listened to, or read. I'm not terribly outdoorsy (my favorite vacation spot is...any big city [ok, that's not true, its Chicago]), but I care about the environment and would love to meet someone who could help me appreciate nature more. Most of my abroad experience has been in Europe, but I'd love to explore Asia, Africa (especially North Africa) and Latin American one day too. My ideal night out is with a group of friends over some drinks at the local bar.
This is important: although my profile says I'm in Columbus, I actually live and work in Knox County. I come into Columbus fairly often and, fortunately, my work is portable. I'd love to meet someone who would be up for just hanging out and reading together from time to time before either heading out to enjoy the city or cooking dinner together. I wouldn't expect anyone to drive out here right away. That said, someone who also likes long walks out here in the Ohio countryside, and who wants to buy produce straight from the farmers would also be nice :)
This semester will be a busy one so I honestly have no idea how much time I'll have for dating. That said, if I strike your fancy and you're willing to put up with a workaholic, you should say "hi."
Kinds of guys I'm looking for:
Open to all comers as long as you have an idea of where your life is going.
