Willie Nelson: 'I'd Never Marry a Guy I Didn't Like'

Country singer Willie Nelson has always been an outlier. Whether it's his stance on marijuana or marriage, he thinks (and speaks) his own mind. Now he's spoken with Texas Monthly from his tour bus in Austin while he's closely following the court cases in D.C. As he told Andy Langer, he's been watching the Supreme Court arguements over Prop. 8 and DOMA because he's always believed all people deserved equal protection under the law.

"I've known straight and gay people all my life. I can't tell the difference. People are people where I came from...I never thought of marriage as something only for men and women. But I'd never marry a guy I didn't like."

He also posed with a series of signs created by the Austin-based design agency Helms Workshop and printed by Austin's East End Ink that show the red HRC equality symbol that has gone viral on social media this week. But two of the designs include Willie-specific references: one with his braids, the other with two smoking joints. Read the full story and check out the logos (and share them) here.
