WATCH: Madonna Scouts for Boys at the GLAAD Awards

By Brandon Voss

A who's-who of the LGBT and allied world of media and entertainment showed up for last night's 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York City.

First of all, a quick shout-out to sibling publications The Advocate and Out — which, like Gay.net, are both owned by Here Media — for taking home the prize for Outstanding Magazine Overall Coverage!

Needless to say, Madonna stole the whole show when she presented advocate, award-winning journalist, author, and talk show host Anderson Cooper with the Vito Russo Award, which is presented annually to an openly LGBT media professional who's made a significant difference in promoting equality.

Because we wouldn't expect anything less, Madonna took the stage dressed as a Boy Scout. "I wanted to be a boy scout, but they wouldn't let me join. I think that's fucked up," she said. "Listen, I want to do good for the community. But most importantly, I know how to scout for boys."

Check out Madonna's entire speech below, courtesy of GLAAD.

Also watch lipstick-smudged Anderson Cooper's heartfelt acceptance speech.
