The 15th Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which wrapped on Sunday, is gaining a reputation as a money-soaked, hipster paradise, where partying and being seen is paramount and the music is an after-thought. The reality is not entirely far-off — the event is a very expensive endeavor, especially for the Millenials that constitute the majority of the attendees, and the creature comforts like VIP tickets and chef-created meals are only within reach of trust-fund babies, techie millionaires, and movie stars (many of which don't pay a cent to go to Coachella).
But there is no doubt, that music is still a big draw at this LGBT-friendly event, with the crowd's rapturous delight for artists like Lorde, MGMT, Arcade Fire, Pharrell, and Solange Knowles. The latter artist had a calvalcade of gay fans at her show, no doubt encouraged by the appearance of Solange's famous sister during the first weekend of Coachella 2014.
See the smiling faces of the festival below, as well as the utterly gorgeous.
