Former NFL Player Allegedly Assaults Ex-Boyfriend Over Undies, Soy Sauce

By Daniel Villarreal

Soy sauce and underwear.

That's what started the alleged assault between former San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Kwame Harris and his boyfriend at the Su Hong Chinese restaurant last August.

The Daily Journal explains:

"the pair were previously involved but were just friends at 9the point of the alleged assault).

Harris was to drive Geier to San Francisco International Airport but instead became upset when he poured soy sauce on a plate of rice, according to the suit filed in San Mateo County Superior Court.

The men argued for approximately seven minutes and Harris said he would no longer take Geier to the airport, the suit states.

As the men left to remove Geier’s belongings from Harris’ car so that he could instead take a cab, Harris tried pulling the other man’s pants down and accused him of stealing his underwear, according to the suit.

Geier unsuccessfully tried pushing Harris away but the bigger man shook him violently and punched him in the arms, the suit states...

Geier allegedly hit Harris three times in the face but Harris 'seemed only to grow more agitated' and punched him in the face several times until he fell, the suit states."

Although Geier started the fight, Harris is being charged because Geier had to go to the ER and have a metal plate inserted to help fix the broken bones around his eye.

Harris is now facing felony charges for domestic violence and assault with force and is being sued by Geier in civil court for "assault, battery, false imprisonment, negligence and both intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress.," though Harris contends that he acted in self-defense and that all the civil charges are just to milk him for money.

Harris could get seven years in prison if he's found guilty.

Though Harris has never publicly acknowledged his homosexuality, he's at least proof that there are gay players in the NFL. That's gotta be a silver lining on this otherwise sad tale of soy sauce and assault... right? Right??
